Once upon a time
Article Abstract:
Story-telling is becoming popular and many appearances of professional story-tellers are being sold out long before the event, people liking the fact that, unlike much modern literature, there is a clear beginning, middle and end. Duncan Williamson has a repertoire of over 3,000 stories ranging through folk stories, ballads, songs and jokes. Several festivals are held throughout the country where these people develop their art. The classic method is to tell the tale simply and let the audience use its imagination, and most traditional story-tellers denounce performance story-telling where acting forms part of the process.

Once upon a time there was an 'imagination hour.'
Article Abstract:
It is becoming increasingly difficult for teachers in the UK to give children time to write creatively. The literacy hour introduces children to formal concepts, but means that there is no time left for creative writing. Furthermore, the strong emphasis on technique fostered by the literacy hour means that children do not gain the ability to turn their thoughts into writing. It is vital that children are allowed to explore their imaginations before other pressures make it impossible for them to do so.
