The man of peace known as the Reverend Ian Paisley
Article Abstract:
Democratic Unionist Party leader Rev Ian Paisley has been at the forefront of opposition to the Good Friday peace agreement in Northern Ireland. He has been particularly critical of David Trimble's Ulster Unionists, who have supported the peace agreement. However, he will certainly take the two seats on the executive of the Northern Ireland assembly that will be allocated to his party. He is clearly preparing for government, regarding the executive as an opportunity to both participate and denounce.
