Clothes to cut out and keep
Article Abstract:
There was a strong sense of confusion in the collections shown in the ready-to-wear fashion shows in Paris, France, in Mar 1999. John Galliano's collection for Dior was more commercial than previous collections, with hardly any of the elaborate evening wear for which Galliano is known. Overall, the collection lacked vitality. Alexander McQueen's collection for Givenchy had a millennial theme and was aimed at the traditional Givenchy customer. Yohji Yamamoto's collection showed that the trouser suit is unlikely to go out of fashion.
