Pictures speak louder than words
Article Abstract:
The Photographer's Gallery in London, WC2, is currently holding an exhibition of the photographs of John Kippin. His works are usually full of political comment and meaning, and are intended to subvert conservatism in all its forms. The 35 photographs on display initially appear to be traditional landscapes, but actually intend to destroy the pastoral idyll.

The man who knew what he liked
Article Abstract:
The influence of the late Nikolaus Pevsner, who served on the UK's Royal Fine Art Commission and chaired the Victorian Society, is considered. It is argued that, while clashing with traditionalists, he also came into conflict with much of the highest quality modern architecture of the 20th century.

The touring exhibition 'Nigel Henderson: Parallel of Life and Art' is currently at Gainsborough's House in Sudbury, England. He moved into photography after the second world war, and was strongly influenced by surrealism.
