Academic psychologist Brian Foss studied for a degree in Natural Sciences (Mathematics and Physics) at Cambridge University, England. After the second world war, he took a Diploma in Psychology at the Institute of Experimental Psychology in Oxford, England. He gained a Lectureship at Birkbeck College, and then held Professorships in Educational Psychology and Psychology at London University, England. He was chairman of the Psychology Board for the Council for National Academic Awards from 1972 to 1978.

Professor Mancur Olson
Article Abstract:
Economist Mancur Olson studied at North Dakota Agricultural College and then gained a Rhodes Scholarship to University College, Oxford, England. He gained his doctorate, and then joined the economics department at Princeton. He became Professor of Economics at the College Park campus of the University of Maryland in 1969, and remained there for the rest of his life. The ideas he put together for his doctorate, published in 1965 as 'The Logic of Collective Action,' gained widespread acceptance.

E.C. Poulton
Article Abstract:
Experimental psychologist Eustace Poulton was born in Woldingham, England, in 1918. He studied Medicine at Trinity Hall, Cambridge, England, and Clinical Medicine at Guy's Hospital. After the second world war, he was appointed to what became the Medical Research Council Applied Psychology Unit.
