Pipe dreams in the rich man's club
Article Abstract:
The Group of Seven leading industrialised countries has seen its influence steadily diminish over recent years. It makes some decisions, but has no administration to put them into practice, and its membership does not reflect latest developments in the balance of economic and political power. It is now set to reform the international public sector, looking at the future of organisations such as the United Nations, the World Bank and the World Trade Organisation.

What price integrity today?
Article Abstract:
It has traditionally been assumed in the UK that political corruption is not really the serious problem that it is in other countries. China's doing well enough
Article Abstract:
There is growing international concern about the juxtaposition of rapid economic growth and continuing political repression in China. The Chinese authorities seem to be intepreting human rights in different ways, recognising the right to a decent standard of living but refuting the right to dissent. Developments in China also go against the contemporary western view that successful capitalism and democratic government naturally go together.
