Clapton leads addicts to the crossroads
Article Abstract:
The $5 million Crossroads Rehabilitation Centre to be opened shortly on Antigua will treat mainly North Americans and Europeans, charging $9,000 a month. However, the facility, which is the initiative of singer Eric Clapton, will also reserve 12 beds for local Antiguan drug and alcohol addicts, who will not be charged. Clapton, who will visit the centre to participate in counselling sessions, is creating foundations in the US and the UK which will hold concerts and other fund-raising events to pay for the treatment of the Antiguan patients.

Argentina backs off Falklands claim
Article Abstract:
There is room for flexibility over arrangements for the Falkland Islands, according to Argentinian Foreign Minister Guido di Tella. Argentina does not wish to hold a dominant position in the Falkland Islands, and could be considering dropping its claim to sovereignty. It is prepared to hold regular meetings with the UK regarding the Falkland Islands, and wishes to reach agreements on issues such as tourism, trade and communications.
