These big Tory euro-beasts will growl but won't bite
Article Abstract:
One of the most interesting issues in UK politics at present is how long the high-profile pro-Europeans in the Conservative party will hold back from public revolt against the party's leadership over European monetary union. Party leader William Hague is coming under strong pressure from the Europhobic forces in the party, and this makes it more likely that he will provoke the leading pro-Europeans into outright opposition. This could have very negative repercussions for the party and for Hague himself.
