Chemist Thomas Stevens was born in Renfrew, Scotland, in 1900. He studied Chemistry at Glasgow University, England, and then gained a DPhil at Oxford University, England. He returned to Glasgow in 1925 as a Lecturer in Chemistry, and in 1947 moved to Sheffield University, England.

Professor R.L. Wain
Article Abstract:
Agricultural chemist Ralph Wain was born in Hyde, England, in 1911. He read Chemistry at Sheffield University, England, and lectured in chemistry at the South Eastern Agricultural College until 1939. He became Head of the Chemistry Dept at Wye College in 1945.

Professor Donald Cram

Chemist Donald Cram was born in Chester, VT, in 1919. He studied at Rollins College in Florida and joined the University of California at Los Angeles in 1947. He shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1987.
