GRE faces revolt on French deal
Article Abstract:
Some shareholders in Guardian Royal Exchange (GRE) are expressing doubts about whether the company should accept a takeover bid of 3.4 billion pounds sterling from fellow insurer AXA. These shareholders believe that an offer made by Eureko was more attractive. GRE's board and its advisers, Morgan Stanley, feel that it has been a significant achievement to obtain such a large bid for the company, but the stock market does not seem to favour the deal, with GRE's shares being priced at 360p.
