Racing's heartland tries to rein in the drug pushers
Article Abstract:
Police in the UK believe that inner-city drugs dealers are turning their attention to the racing community. In the village of Lambourn, Berkshire, which has close associations with racing, there are now 51 registered addicts, and levels of crime associated with drugs have risen. Recently, an apprentice jockey was found guilty of possessing heroin. Drug dealers are believed to be attracted to the racing community because it employs large numbers of young people who work under very stressful conditions.

Art dealers close ranks in wake of fraud
Article Abstract:
The discovery that fraudsters tampered with archives at the British Council and Tate Gallery in order to authenticate forgeries produced for sale has caused great embarrassment in the world of contemporary art. Investigators believe that corrupted records may now also be present in auction house catalogues, and it is likely that prices will fall. Dealers and auction houses are unwilling to admit that a large-scale fraud has taken place.

Bed, please, but hold the romance
Article Abstract:
16-24-year olds are extremely well informed about the technicalities of sex, and tend to have a rather cynical, disillusioned attitude towards it. Aids has forced them to talk openly about sex, and they regard communication as extremely important in all sexual relationships. A new code of behaviour is emerging, in which many friendships are platonic and young women take the initiative more frequently.
