Reality didn't hit home, but fiction might
Article Abstract:
The film 'Welcome to Sarajevo,' made by Channel Four Films and Miramax, claims to portray the reality of the conflict in Bosnia. It even goes as far as to use several minutes of news coverage interlinked with portrayals of devastation and death. In the eyes of journalists who actually experienced the conflict in Bosnia, this film does not come very close to showing reality. The film is admittedly fiction, and therefore cannot be totally accurate, but fiction could be used more effectively to show the futility of war.

Tears, fears, but above all hope, greet the dawn of a new life back home in Bosnia
Article Abstract:
Many refugees returning to Bosnia will find their circumstances greatly changed compared with their previous life there. They will often be going to a different town, and must adapt to the many political and geographical changes which have taken place over recent years. Returning will be particularly difficult for refugee children, many of whom have forgotten their life in Bosnia. For all refugees, it will be hard to lead a normal life in a country where there is still great ethnic tension.
