Recluse guilty of Mardi Gra bombs
Article Abstract:
Edgar Pearce, the 'Mardi Gra' bomber who sought to extort large sums of money from banks and shops, has pleaded guilty to 20 charges, including attempting to blackmail Sainsbury's and Barclays Bank. His three-year campaign began in 1994, when he sent packages containing a device that automatically detonated a shot-gun cartridge to six branches of Barclays Bank. He later began attacking members of the public at random, and then began focusing on random businesses.
