Rumble in the jungle
Article Abstract:
Highly respected jazz guitarist Pat Metheny has collaborated with Goldie, who has no formal musical background and puts all his music together on computer, to produce a single. This has involved Goldie remixing a track from Metheny's album 'Imaginary Day.' Further collaboration is planned, in which Metheny will re-mix tracks by Goldie. The two men have very different aesthetic viewpoints, but greatly admire each other's work. They have very different approaches, with Goldie coming at music from the outside while Metheny tries to know as much as possible about the music.

It's a jungle down there
Article Abstract:
The Full Cycle record label, which brings together producers including Roni Size, DJ Krust and DJ Die, is already well known in underground dance-music circles, and is now set to become a key force in international pop music. It has been responsible for the Bristol jungle, or 'drum and bass' sound, which unites very unusual musical effects. Full Cycle has been producing a new single every month for the last two years, and Roni Size is soon to issue his first album.

The song is over
Article Abstract:
There are clear parallels between the death from a heroin overdose in 1975 of rock singer Tim Buckley and the death in Jun 1997 of Jeff Buckley, his son. Tim Buckley attracted great admiration for the beauty of his singing, and Jeff Buckley was very much in his father's mould. Tim Buckley was the most influential of singer-songwriters in the post-Dylan period, and his son was able to revive his unique combination of poetry, folk and jazz.
