Score a pension with Leeds FC
Article Abstract:
Leeds Sporting, which owns Leeds United football club, is extending its range of financial services to include pensions, life insurance, medical plans and mortgages. The club will receive commission for introducing clients to Allied Dunbar and Skipton Building Society although it will not provide financial advice itself. The initiative is the first time a football club has extended its brands into mortgages, pensions and other complex services. Fans can already buy car insurance, get personal loans and savings accounts through similar partnerships, and the intention is to develop the brand further. As an incentive, fans can get two free tickets to a home match if they complete a financial consultation by the end of October 1998.
