US markets reopen amid fears of share collapse

The New York Stock Exchange is reopening following the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. A safety system has been created by the Federal Reserve, Wall Street investment houses and regulators to try to prevent a sharp drop in share prices when trading resumes.
