Sir Anthony Dawson
Article Abstract:
Sir Anthony Dawson was a physician specialising in gastroenterology. He carried out research at Harvard Medical School between 1957 and 1959, and later worked at St Bartholomew's Hospital, London, England. He was especially interested in the way that amino acids and peptides are absorbed through the wall of the gut, and how fats travel through the intestine. He was a fine physician who recognised the link between body and mind, and who was also concerned about social conditions such as homelessness and its impact on health.
