Sir James Goldsmith
Article Abstract:
Businessman James Goldsmith had an unconventional approach to both his private life and to business. He had three wives, many mistresses and eight children, but managed to remain on good terms with all of them. He made daring business deals, and this allowed him to become one of the richest men in the world. He also became involved in politics, and in 1995 was elected as member of the European Parliament. He later financed a political party devoted to ensuring that Britons should be allowed to participate in a referendum to decide the future of the UK's relationship with the European Union.

Sir James Goldsmith
Article Abstract:
James Goldsmith showed a taste and admiration for unusual behaviour from an early age. He attracted a group of admiring followers in his late teens and early 20s, and he remained loyal to these people throughout the rest of his life. His first experiences with business made him somewhat cynical and planted the seeds of opposition to government and big business. His business empire expanded rapidly, however, and his attitudes led some people to fear him.
