Smack addicts
Article Abstract:
The European Court of Human Rights has ruled that it is not acceptable for parents to physically punish their children. However, the UK government has stated that physical punishment in the form of smacking has a place within parental discipline and that no changes will be made to the law on this matter. Many parents have been left confused by the situation, in which it seems to be legal to smack a child but not to use an implement to impose discipline. It is now time to realize that smacking by parents can lead to anti-social behaviour in children.

Sex and the single parent
Article Abstract:
Children living with only one parent can feel very threatened if that parent begins a relationship, and this issue must be handled very sensitively. It is important to ensure that the first meeting between the new partner and the children goes smoothly, and it is also vital to be honest with the children. Single parents need to take the children's views very seriously, as a negative reaction from children can have a very damaging impact on a relationship.
