So what's the Bic idea?
Article Abstract:
There is not necessarily a relationship between visual art and performance works, according to Flemish artist Jan Fabre. He becomes involved in performance works because he enjoys working with other people, and emphasizes that in performance works the human beings are the most significant factors. In contrast, in visual art the work itself is the most important factor. With visual art, there are none of the constraining structures which are encountered in performance art.

Don't mention the J-word
Article Abstract:
John Lurie and the Lounge Lizards, Henry Threadgill, and the Bill Frisell Quartet are jazz musicians who do not like the term jazz, who will perform at the South Bank in July 1996 in the Sharp New America season. According to David Jones, of Serious, the promoter, the idea of the season is for music to be played which has more of an edge than pieces traditionally played at festivals. Jones says that Threadgill does not like the Sharp New America label.

Starting from Scratch
Article Abstract:
Baby Fox, pop group, has recorded 'Curly Locks', an item first recorded by Lee 'Scratch' Perry in 1974, which is very different from the original. The original is about a rastafarian man who is concerned whether his girlfriend will care for him with his dreadlocks, whilst the new version is about a worried woman, and there have been a few changes to the theme. 'Curly Locks' also features on Baby Fox's album, 'A Normal Family'.
