Specs, God and rock'n'roll
Article Abstract:
People can be extremely cruel in judging the actions of others, according to guitar player Hank Marvin. His son died in Jan 1997 at the age of only 35, and many newspapers implied that Marvin had neglected him. In fact, Marvin was always willing to help his son, but his son chose not to accept this help. Marvin is a Jehovah's Witness, and believes that he will meet his son again in much happier circumstances. His religious beliefs clash with those of Cliff Richard, with whom he used to perform, but the two men are still close friends.

Lord, forgive them
Article Abstract:
Life peers are no more representative of ordinary people in the UK than hereditary peers, according to Martin Noel-Buxton, who is a hereditary peer as a result of a title being awarded to his grandfather. He feels that abolishing the hereditary peerage would simply mean that one elite would be replaced by another. He inherited a great deal of money, but spent it all on alcohol and now attends the House of Lords partly in order to be eligible for expenses. His son will not mind at all not having the right to sit in the House of Lords.

Ian Paisley - what a laugh
Article Abstract:
Democratic Unionist Party leader Ian Paisley is determined to ensure that Northern Ireland remains part of the UK, and will continue to work for this cause until he dies. He does not regard Catholics as Christians, although he claims not to be in conflict with individual Catholics. He wants peace in Northern Ireland, but is also enjoying campaigning against the peace agreement. He will work very hard to ensure that the peace agreement is unworkable.
