How to make an impact in print
Article Abstract:
Work produced by personal computer must be printed out to make an impact on its intended audience. The dot-matrix printer is cheap but noisy and almost obsolete. Small ink-jet printers cost little more - about 200-350 pounds sterling- but produce much higher quality printing, quietly. Laser printers are the best for quality but cost about 700 pounds sterling. They produce crisp print more quickly. Colour printers are also available. Running costs of ribbons, ink cartridges or toner should also be considered.

Ball-point finds niche market on the margins
Article Abstract:
Word processors are good for editing text. They have facilities for cutting and pasting blocks of text to different sections of a document, for correcting spelling and grammar and for replacing a word throughout a piece of work. Alterations can be made before anything is put onto paper. The layout can be specified and pictures can be incorporated. Documents can be efficiently filed in the computer's disk storage system. A high quality printer produces the best work, but standard-sized paper must be used.
