You'd better believe in the bogeyman
Article Abstract:
When young children describe a pain or other illness they often refer to it as a monster or other object inside them, and doctors have found that by discussing this with the children their symptoms can be relieved. This is known as creative visualisation. Dr Brian Roet, a London psychotherapist and general practitioner says the technique can be applied to all age groups but is particularly suitable for young children who, unlike adults, do not have to relearn the use of imagination. It is thought to relax the subject so that the body's self-healing abilities are able to work effectively.

How to abseil away from your parents
Article Abstract:
Summer camps for children are becoming increasingly popular in the UK. Children welcome the opportunity to spend time involved in exciting activities away from the supervision of their parents, while parents like the idea that children will be able to enjoy more freedom than they can usually be given at home. PGL, which has been running summer camps for 41 years, reports that children's favourite activities are abseiling, canoeing and motorsports. Parents report that summer camps make their children healthier and more independent.
