Suddenly the French find themselves playing solitaire
Article Abstract:
Recent developments appear to have made French President Jacques Chirac feel rather lonely. German Chancellor Helmut Kohl has been removed from power and replaced by someone who seems to share many of the views of UK Prime Minister Tony Blair. Furthermore, Chirac seems to be belong to an older generation of politicians than President Bill Clinton, German Chancellor Gerhard Schroder and Tony Blair. Furthermore, it appears that French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin is ideologically closer to Blair than Chirac.
