Environmental Studies courses offer a holistic view of how humans relate to the world, as is shown by the different courses on offer in the United Kingdom. Northumbria University's environmental management course offered George Hume a thorough grounding which helped in his later work as a communications officer for an environmental charity. Karen Trigg, meanwhile, focused on ecology and conservation in her studies at the University of Greenwich. Courses may include recommendations to join environmental groups to gain experience.
