Senior Pakistani officials are to tell the Taliban regime in Afghanistan that it must hand over dissident leader Osama bin Laden if it is to avoid large-scale retaliation by the US and its supporters for the terrorist attacks in the US. The US administration doubts that the Taliban will be willing to extradite bin Laden.
