The beautiful sound of freedom
Article Abstract:
Singer Yungchen Lhamo, who escaped Chinese oppression in Tibet, feels that it is a great honour to be able to perform in free countries with talented and successful musicians. She initially found it difficult to obtain performing engagements in the west, but was eventually signed to Peter Gabriel's Real World label. She sings in order to uplift and inspire listeners to undertake a spiritual journey. Her songs are dedicated to the Dalai Lama and all the Buddhas.
