Lucky chants
Article Abstract:
Indian musician Ravi Shankar feels that 'Chants of India,' an album which is to be released at the beginning of Sep 1997, is one of the most meaningful projects in which he has ever been involved. It hardly has any sitar music on it at all, even though Shankar was famous for his sitar music in the 1960s. Instead, it has a choir of 12 or 15 voices and a musical basis made up of traditional Indian instruments and a small number of western ones. The resulting music is very subtle and spiritual.
