The modernisers are moving in at Westminster Abbey
Article Abstract:
The conflict at Westminster Abbey, London, England, between the Dean of Westminster Abbey, Wesley Carr, and organist Dr Martin Neary, who has been dismissed by Carr for alleged financial irregularities, should be regarded very seriously. The outcome of the conflict, which is now being considered by a retired Law Lord, Lord Jauncey, will have significant implications for the future careers of both men. Furthermore, it will determine the future of efforts by Carr to introduce wide-reaching changes at Westminster Abbey.

Swinging Sixties, new-look Nineties
Article Abstract:
There has been a revival in interest in the culture and philosophy of the 1960s in the UK recently. Enough time has now elapsed to distinguish the positive elements of the 1960s from the negative, and there is also a feeling that there are considerable similarities between the 1960s and the second half of the 1990s. There was great optimism in the 1960s, when profound changes in social relationships took place, and there is a similar sense of optimism following the election of a Labour government in May 1997.
