The outing of Philip Hensher
Article Abstract:
The unique atmosphere of the House of Commons tends to heighten awareness of sexual issues, according to Philip Hensher, who lost his job as a House of Commons clerk after writing his second novel, 'Kitchen Venom,' which tells the story of a homosexual clerk who becomes a murderer. He mentioned no MPs by name, but set the book in the precise environment in which he had been working. He also attracted controversy because he made remarks about MPs in a gay magazine.
