The Royal Museum in Edinburgh, Scotland, is currently staging an exhibition entitled 'Making Weaves: the basket-maker's art.' This exhibition covers the work of 14 contemporary Scottish basket-makers. It contains some experimental work, as it has allowed basket-makers to work towards specific pieces which they would not otherwise have made. Exhibitors include Valerie Pragnell, Anna King, Laurence Coupland and Graham Glanville.

Brighton rocks
Article Abstract:
The management team of the Brighton Festival spent up to 1.9 million pounds sterling to ensure a grant of 15 million pounds sterling was given to the project by the Arts Council in 1998. The Brighton Festival artistic director Chris Barron required the money to refurbish the Brighton Dome, which houses the festival. Barron is seeking to have the project finished by June 2001, including a newly built theatre.

A journalist describes his experiences trying to get work as a male model. He used a photographer and stylist to put together a portfolio and comp cards and then visited 26 model agencies.
