The thrill-seekers
Article Abstract:
There has been a strong growth in interest in adventure, or extreme, sports in the 1990s. These include mountaineering, bungee-jumping and scuba-diving. In many cases, people simply pay to become involved in these sports, spending very little time training. They seek instant gratification and the opportunity to make their life more interesting than those of their peers. Some experts believe that the need to do something dangerous is being fuelled by the fact that life as a whole has become much safer.

Milosevic offer of truce is met with more bombs
Article Abstract:
Serb President Slobodan Milosevic has stated that the Yugoslav army will stop attacking ethnic Albanians in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, as a goodwill gesture in the run-up to Orthodox Easter celebrations. However, the UK has emphasized that Nato will continue to bomb Serbia until Milosevic allows Albanians to return to Kosovo, withdraws his troops and accepts an international peace force in Kosovo. There has also been a negative reaction from the US to Milosevic's overtures.
