The woman who loves to show off her Nylon
Article Abstract:
It should not be necessary for an art gallery to force an artist to sign a contract in order to ensure that the artist remains with the gallery, according to Mary Jane Aladren, founder of the Nylon art gallery in London, England. No artists are under contract to Nylon, and they are free to show their work in many different galleries. Aladren feels that artists will remain with her if she proves effective in selling their work, and that a contract should not be part of the relationship between the artist and the gallery.

Spice up the auction house
Article Abstract:
The UK's first live televised bid-from-home auction is to take place shortly. This auction, which will be shown on the cable and satellite channel 'Living,' will cover 72 lots of pop memorabilia. 'The Auction Channel' has gained rights to 1,700 forthcoming auctions, and it is anticipated that this approach will particularly appeal to existing telephone bidders and commission bidders who are unable to attend sales in person.
