The treatment worked but the end was horrible - in a wheelchair, unable to talk and unable to feed himself
Article Abstract:
Patrick Baldwin, who died of Creutzfeldt Jakob Disease at the age of 30 in December 1992, after a nasty illness and had a horrible death, had received human growth hormone (hGH) treatment from the age of 14 to 18. He was one of 2,000 children to be treated with hGH. The treatment was replaced by an artificial drug in May 1985 after the death in February 1985 of 22-year-old Alison Lay. In 1992, the Institute of Child Health instructed people who had received the hGH not to give blood or donate organs

Article Abstract:
Sprinter Linford Christie was devastated when he was told that he had been tested positive for drugs during the Seoul Olympic Games. He knew that he was innocent, and felt that everything he had worked so hard for had been completely eliminated. He was obliged to explain himself to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and received extensive media attention. It was eventually accepted that he had not done anything wrong.
