They came in search of paradise
Article Abstract:
20th Century Fox has been accused of causing serious damage to Phi Phi Ley, a very small, uninhabited island in the Andaman sea, during the making of a film version of Alex Garland's novel 'The Beach.' Environmental protesters believe that the company should not have been given permission to alter the landscape of a National Park, and claim that permission was given only because the company agreed to pay 66,000 pounds sterling. Producer Andrew Macdonald points out that much worse environmental damage is taking place elsewhere in Thailand.

Mike was a prizewinning student: why did he die?
Article Abstract:
Many students feel under great pressure when the time of their final exams approaches, and there have been several cases of students actually committing suicide. There is growing demand for student counselling services, which can allow those suffering from anxiety to address their fears and look at the situation more logically. Cases where students do commit suicide, such as Oxford chemistry student Mike Whitaker, often result from feelings of hopeless failure.
