Real Britannia
Article Abstract:
The rise of Englishness as a national identity over recent years seems to have coincided with the waning of Britishness. British identity is based in a legal and political collective that remains a mystery to many ordinary people, and it is very easy to fall into the trap of regarding Britain and England as the same thing. The new social challenge is to create a modern version of Britishness that includes everyone, rather than excluding some, that is more urban than rural and that is based in modern culture, rather than in the past.

The feminist guide to cosmetic surgery
Article Abstract:
Women who regard themselves as feminists face a number of dilemmas associated with making changes to their appearance. Indeed, it may be necessary to adopt new approaches to feminist dogma in order to justify cosmetic surgery. Any woman who is considering breast enlargement or reduction surgery, for example, should take care to emphasize that she is doing so for her own benefit, and not for any man. With facelifts too, it is important for women who see themselves as feminists to emphasize the personal nature of their decision.
