Article Abstract:
There is considerable potential for private investors to make large gains from investing in a company which is seeking to list on the Stock Exchange. Companies are often sold at very attractive prices, and brokers often offer shares at a discount to their full value. New issues can outperform the market by more than 10%, and are being increasingly seen as a way of investing in the strongest areas of the business world. However, there are risks involved, particularly in assessing the motives of the company's managers in bringing it to the market.
