The Arab world is unlikely to be easily persuaded to support the West's plans for military action against Afghanistan in response to the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon. The only real military assistance will probably come from the former Soviet Muslim republics.

Allied forces launch air strikes on Afghanistan
Article Abstract:
Targets in and around Kandahar and Kabul, Afghanistan, have been attacked by bombers and cruise missiles in the first stage of US and UK military action against the country's Taliban regime. The main aim was to eliminate a Taliban command and control centre and air defences, along with military armour.
