Article Abstract:
Some Britons are beginning to resent the fact that publicity and marketing are now playing a significant role in shaping public opinion. They are responding negatively to commercialization of the solar eclipse taking place on Aug 11, 1999, feeling that they are being exploited by those who are seeking to encourage them to travel to Cornwall, England, to view the eclipse. Similarly, they resent the fact that the film 'The Phantom Menace' has received so much publicity that many people feel obliged to go and see it.
