Muscovites come to terms with science of modern shopping
Article Abstract:
Ramstore, a Turkish-financed hypermarket and shopping centre venture in Moscow, Russia, has attracted a great deal of interest from ordinary Muscovites. Many have visited the development simply to observe, as they cannot really afford to buy anything. Those who have purchased goods have had to learn about western approaches to shopping. Many brought their own shopping basket with them, for example, not realizing that plastic bags are available free of charge. The most popular item has been bananas.

Spy spat ends in four expulsions on either side
Article Abstract:
The Russian government has informed the UK's ambassador to Moscow, Sir Andrew Wood, that four embassy staff must be withdrawn shortly. This falls short of Russia's earlier threat to expel nine British diplomats following the arrest of a Russian claimed to be working for MI6 in Moscow. The UK has responded by handing to the Russian ambassador in London, Anatoly Adamishin, the names of four Russian embassy staff in the UK who must be expelled from the country.
