Today, Egon Krenz celebrates his order to tear down the Wall. Tomorrow, he heads for prison
Article Abstract:
A number of events will take place in Berlin, Germany, to mark the 10th anniversary of the collapse of the Berlin Wall. As these events are happening, former East German leader Egon Krenz faces an uncertain future, with an appeals court in Leipzig, Germany, having upheld a prison sentence of six-and-a-half years. He and two others were judged to have been indirectly responsible for the deaths of East German refugees killed by border guards along the Berlin Wall.

Prince threatens to abolish tax haven
Article Abstract:
Prince Hans-Adam II, the 13th reigning monarch of Liechtenstein, is threatening to move abroad, possibly putting an end to Liechtenstein as an independent state. He is strongly opposed to moves by the government to modernise the state, which would involve the government holding power in tandem with the monarchy. He is determined to retain his absolute powers, under which he can dissolve parliament and government.
