Twenty-two years in the life of Anthony Alexandrowicz
Article Abstract:
Being arrested for aggravated burglary was extremely frightening, according to Anthony Alexandrowicz, who was arrested in 1971 and given two life sentences. He claims that he was innocent of this crime and that spending 22 years in prison has destroyed his life. He states that he was warned that his Ukrainian father could be deported if he did not agree to be put away for a time. He began to regard himself as a Russian citizen because the authorities were seeing him as that anyway.

He believes that he stands a good chance of being re-elected, and feels that his age will make him a favourite among older voters. However, his rivals claim that voters are seeking a younger MP, especially as 43% of voters in the constituency are under 40.
