UK: BLUE CIRCLE UNVEILS INTERNET SITE
Article Abstract:
Blue Circle Industries (BCI) announced a new Internet site on 9 March 2000 allowing cement producers to procure machinery and supplies. The UK-based group's chief executive, Rick Haythornwaite, says that e-cement.com offers manufacturers and suppliers in the cement arena the first truly worldwide marketplace, presenting the opportunity for potentially massive savings in terms of procurement alone. BCI has linked up with business-to-business (B2B) website specialist, Just2Clicks.com, to establish e-cement.com.

A fashion for online hemlines
Article Abstract:
The Internet offers a very high level of flexibility, making it possible to shift from market to market around the world, according to Marc Worth, who founded the Worth Global Style Network (WGSN) with his brother Julian. WGSN has 1,000 users, each paying 1,850 pounds sterling for a password. Users have access to a vast interactive archive on fashion trends, including design and fabrics. Worth believes that WGSN offers a significant opportunity to promote British designers internationally.
