UK: STORMS BRING RAILWAYS TO A HALT
Article Abstract:
Storms across Europe meant that several train operators were forced to bring their services to a standstill. These were Central Trains, Connex, C2C, Eurostar, First Great Western, Gatwick Express, Great Northern, Great North Eastern, Midland Mainline, Thames Trains, Virgin and West Anglia. The national rail inquiry service was inundated with callers, most of whom did not speak to an operator but merely heard a recorded message directing them to the national rail website.
