Venice starts to clean its polluted lagoon
Article Abstract:
Firm action is being taken against the pollution being created by heavy industry in Venice, Italy. A judge has issued a confiscation order on the waste water outlet SM15, the largest in the industrialized Porto Marghera area, following indications that water leaving the outlet contained very high levels of carcinogenic chemicals and heavy metals. The Venice health authority has denied that any potentially fatal chemicals have entered the food chain, and also denies that pollution in the Porto Marghera lagoon is dangerous to people living and working there.

The miracle has been postponed
Article Abstract:
Initial results from clinical tests of the efficacy of Multiterapia Di Bella (MDB), a cocktail of drugs claimed by Italian doctor Luigi Di Bella to cure cancer, have shown that no patient taking the drug experienced an improvement in their condition. Di Bella has been using MDB for many years, but has only recently begun to attract publicity, as well as controversy. Many people have placed their faith in MDB as a cancer cure, and the revelation that it is ineffective has been greeted with great disappointment.
