Walking the millennium mile
Article Abstract:
The Open University offers many very interesting courses, according to Annabella Morrison, an Open University student and qualified City of London Guide. She has linked with Open University graduate Val Pretlove to create Via Londinium, which offers specialized walks around London, England. Pretlove feels that the experience she and Morrison have gained with the Open University's London Region Arts Club has given them an insight into what people want from the specialized walks.

Fighting for the future of our food
Article Abstract:
Many Britons are opposed to genetically modified (GM) foods because they do not seem to have brought any benefits to consumers. The science on which GM foods are based is undoubtedly very clever, but there is a widespread feeling that research in this area is putting the quest for profit before any desire to actually benefit ordinary people. Little information is given to ordinary consumers, and it becomes too late to make an informed decision.
