Welcome to a two-tier society
Article Abstract:
A two-tier society is emerging in the UK in which some people work extremely long hours while others have no work at all. Working women are paying women who cannot afford to return to work because childcare costs are so high to look after their children. Many people have a very poor standard of family life, seeing very little of their children. It is now time to consider encouraging everyone to work fewer hours. This would create more jobs, as well as more customers from the sectors of the economy that are expanding, such as fashion, leisure and tourism.
