When the minister has to face the fax
Article Abstract:
The recent case of a fax from public relations adviser Patrick Robertson to government minister Jonathan Aitken, which was sent to the wrong person, raises a number of issues. Robertson invaded the recipient's privacy by obtaining his ex-directory phone number in order to request the return of the fax, and the recipient responded by showing the fax to a newspaper instead. The contents of the fax have also prompted considerable controversy, particularly as they give a very frank assessment of Aitken's chances of avoiding negative media coverage.

Mr Christopher's bag of bones
Article Abstract:
The US has restored diplomatic relations with Vietnam, but it will take much more than this to obliterate the memory of the many thousands of soldiers from both sides who died in the Vietnam war. Political relations are still strained, but ordinary people have for many years now been dealing with the task of getting on with everyday life. Indeed, many people have fled Vietnam and have now become settled in the US.
