Which emerging market is going to be the next South Korea?
Article Abstract:
Emerging markets offer considerable potential for investors who are prepared to accept a certain degree of risk. However, it is very difficult to predict which emerging markets will produce high yields and which could face financial crisis, as is currently the case in South Korea. Experts failed to predict South Korea's financial crisis, but could be justified in arguing that this is a new type of crisis that could not really have been foreseen. It seems that potential investors in emerging economies should only look at countries which have fully transparent economic and financial information.

Pick 'n' mixing offers a solution to jobless crisis
Article Abstract:
A study published recently by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) indicates that making significant improvements to unemployment levels will require many European governments to change the ways in which they have run their economies over the last five decades. The study states that almost all the unemployment in industrialised countries is the result of structural factors. Against this background, unemployment will not be significantly reduced by bringing about economic growth through lowering taxes or interest rates.
