Which of the two sides will be left holding the baby after the battle of the bulge?
Article Abstract:
There has been considerable controversy over the case of a pregnant 17-year-old shoplifter who has been sentenced to five months in jail. This means that she will have to leave jail to have her baby in hospital and then return to jail, with the baby being taken into care. The judge decided that the girl, who has been convicted a total of nine times, should be made to undergo a severe punishment. Some observers agree with this view, while others feel that she could be released slightly early in order to avoid separation from her baby.

The Prado is left hanging
Article Abstract:
The future of the Prado Museum in Madrid, Spain, seems uncertain as it continues to deal with problems caused by political intervention and administrative inefficiency. It has the largest collection of works by Goya, Velazquez and El Greco in the world, and had planned to double its exhibition space by the end of the 1990s. However, no progress has been made in selecting a design which will deal with the difficulties presented by its historic building and sensitive location in the heart of the city's most wealthy district.
